There are 3 main points I’d like to go through that would affect landlords and tenants.
1) If a landlord sells the property, they are now required to give one month’s compensation to the tenant.
2) If a landlord is convicted of a bad faith eviction, then the maximum fine is now 12 month’s rent.
3) The maximum penalty for individual landlords has been increased from $25k to $50k and for corporations, it’s been increased $100k to $250k.
