Summer is over!

I hope you and your family had an amazing Summer!

I’ve been able to spend quality time with my family and now that school is starting up again, a sense of normalcy for us has returned.

I figure I’ve only got 18 Summers with the kid and so I’m happy we were able to hike great trails, ride bikes and play soccer together!

Talking about Summertime, the gorgeous weather and the easing of COVID restrictions caused real estate to be much slower than usual in July and August.

Although prices were up, the number of houses sold was down -20% from last year and the number of new listings wase down -43% compared with 2020.

This means a lot of homeowners were waiting for September before they put their home up for sale. It’s expected to be quite busy over the next month.

Downtown Toronto seems to be coming back strong. I don’t have the official numbers yet, but anecdotally, I see a lot of student renters coming back.

In my interview, I mention that condos have been in a lull for the last few months, but I expect that to take off as well.
